Shakespeare NOW Archives: A new virtual play reading series
TWO GENTLEMEN OF VERONA Directed by M. Craig Getting Friday, May 22 at 7:30PM
An ambitious young nobody from the provinces arrives in London, dreaming of success in the theater. In his first play, Shakespeare treats us to a number of the themes and devices that he developed to great effect: a cross-dressing heroine and two interwoven pairs of fickle lovers. But unique to this comic gem is the greatest role written for a dog in his entire oeuvre: Crab.
