Lantern Theater Company Announces 2006/07 Special Events Calendar
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE August 28, 2006 Lantern Theater Company announces its 2006/07 special event programming, which features a lecture series, symposia series, and discussions with production directors. "These special events bring audiences, artists, and scholars together for lively exchange of ideas and information, while broadening and deepening the experience of seeing a production at the Lantern," says Literary Manager/Education Director Kathryn Nocero. The Lantern Lecture Series introduces audiences to the contexts and themes of each play before they see the production and is open to the public for a small fee ($40 for the four-lecture series, $15 each individual lecture; Lantern subscribers and students are eligible for discounted admission at $25 for the four-lecture series and $10 for each individual lecture). All lectures will be held at 7pm in St. Stephen's Theater, home of Lantern Theater Company. Baked goods will be provided, courtesy of Whole Foods Market.
Our post-show Symposia Series also engages audiences in discussions with illustrious humanities scholars and Lantern artists. Symposia are offered free of charge to ticket holders; suggested $5 donation for non-ticket holders. Symposia are held at St. Stephen's Theater, home of Lantern Theater Company, following the Sunday matinee performance on the same day.
New this season, Lantern Theater Company debuts its Director's Discussion series, a pre-show conversation with the directors of the 2006/07 season. Director's Discussions are offered free of charge to ticket holders. Moderated by Kathryn Nocero, these discussions are held at 7pm in the lobby of St. Stephen's Theater. Baked goods will be provided, courtesy of Whole Foods Market.
