![]() Lantern Theater Company Announces Extension of Private Lives through Jan. 8 and New Year's Eve Performance and Party Sponsored by Le Bec-Fin
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
December 20, 2011 In response to audience demand and critical praise, Lantern Theater Company announces a one-week extension for the romantic comedy Private Lives by British playwright Noël Coward. Praised for its "tone and pizzazz," "handsome sets" and a cast that "looks gorgeous in Mark Mariani's seriously thought-out period clothes" by Howard Shapiro of The Philadelphia Inquirer, Private Lives will now run through Jan. 8. The following performances have been added: Wednesday, Jan. 4 at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5 at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6 at 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7 at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8 at 2 p.m. Elyot (Ben Dibble) and Amanda (Geneviève Perrier), once a glamorous and tempestuous couple, haven't seen each other since their divorce five years ago. When they meet by chance on a hotel balcony in Deauville, their passion reignites – even though they are on their honeymoons with other people (Leonard C. Haas and K.O. DelMarcelle). "An impeccable cast, chic scenic designs by Meghan Jones, and exquisite costumes by Mark Mariani set the period tone for Lantern's fast-paced production, transporting the audience to an escapist world of fashionable insouciance enjoyed by the privileged class. Geneviève Perrier and Ben Dibble are dazzling and debonair..." says Debra Miller of STAGE Magazine. Theatergoers are invited to usher in the New Year at the Lantern with a special New Year's Eve performance and party on Saturday, Dec. 31 at 8 p.m. The evening includes post-show desserts and a champagne toast at the stroke of midnight sponsored by Le Bec-Fin. Private Lives is running now through Jan. 8, 2012. Tickets are $20 - $36 and are available online at lanterntheater.org or by calling the Lantern Box Office at (215) 829-0395. Tickets for the New Year's Eve performance are $48 for adults, $43 for seniors, $38 for students and $31 per person for groups of 10 or more. No other discounts can be honored for this event.
